Optimise the fan pattern in your glasshouse

Air flow fans are often installed without really knowing where they will be most effective. Mounting the fans in rows does not necessarily create the best air circulation pattern for your crops. The design of your glasshouse, the type of crop you grow and the growing methods you use (i.e. soil-based, hydroponics or benches) are all factors which need to be considered when installing the fans. An effective fan pattern maximizes air circulation, preventing pockets of stagnant air. This enables you to get the most out of your fans without wasting electricity. In order to show the effectiveness of your current fan pattern and determine ways of improving it, we have developed a special simulation program in association with Westland Energie.
